If you want to manage properties for anyone other than yourself, California requires there must be a licensed real estate Broker in charge.
 
Beware the real estate salesman who ignores this requirement and offers management services, and whose primary business is sales. Or much worse, beware the un-licensed neighbor or son-in-law who offers a friendly deal.
 
When liabilities become an issue, you want protection. We constantly attend classes to stay up-to-date and keep you out of court. It’s not likely your neighbor has the same commitment. Frankly, it’s very unlikely you’ll find another broker who travels long-distance to attend conferences.  When talking to another broker, ask them how many out-of-state conferences they’ve attended in the past two years.
 
Check with the California Bureau of Real Estate and make sure any manager you choose is licensed (www2.dre.ca.gov/PublicASP/pplinfo.asp?).
 
While management is our bread and butter, we can source and contract tenants for you, we provide guidance to assist your issues and help you assess acquisitions.

 

Meet our Staff:

B. Ramer Spurr, President and Owner (BRE Broker Lic #01281364)


After three years in the combat arms, Ramer carried a Top Secret clearance for twenty years as a C.I.D. Special Agent. It’s the Army’s counterpart to the NCIS. In the C.I.D., the motto was: “Do What Has to Be Done”. That’s how Ramer runs the office. Old habits die hard.
He serves on the Board of Directors for the AACSC (Apartment Association, California Southern Cities).
He founded the local chapter of NARPM (National Association of Residential Property Managers). 
Serves as an instructor locally and nationally for property management. 
He attends a minimum of three weeks per year in NARPM conferences across the country. He can say with confidence, "in the greater area there is no other property manager with that level of commitment."

Debra - Office Manager

If you are a helicopter mechanic, you know it's the "Jesus Pin" that secures the blades and "holds it all together".
 
Debra is our Jesus Pin. Nine years ago she started her management career in one of the largest companies in Los Angeles. She quickly rose through the ranks becoming a portfolio manager for over 650 residences. She has seen it all and done it all. She's used to collecting rent in neighborhoods where most folks would say "roll up the windows, don't make eye contact, just keep driving".
 
Have a leaky faucet? Debra has a tool belt and knows how to use it. Debra wears many hats.
 

Dominic - Tenant Coordinator

A Navy veteran, Dominic is a real stickler for details, but he has the people skills to calm the waters. 

Unlike most companies, our leasing agent carries tenant applicants through the whole process: he takes the call, pre-qualifies, shows the home, tries to get acquainted and assesses the prospect, and, if all goes well, he processes the paperwork and gives the keys.
 

Eddie - Maintenance Coordinator


Also a Navy veteran, Eddie has been In the business for 18 years. 
 

Corina - Bookkeeper and Assistant Office Manager


Corina brought eleven years of property management experience to Spurr & Associates. She keeps our books balanced and the bills paid.
